Welcome to Marpe Counselling
Hello, I’m Yve, the counsellor behind Marpe Counselling.
Marpe means healing, restoration, wholeness and calmness.
I offer compassionate, professional therapeutic counselling for people, including children and young people who are struggling with life’s emotional challenges and are looking for a safe space to talk, reflect, heal and move forward.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) and a qualified registered Social Worker with Social Work England and fully insured.
Over the years, I’ve worked in many different settings, including hospitals, prisons, schools, youth and family centres, local churches, children’s homes, and the Courts. Working closely with statutory agencies, professionals, and community outreach services, has given me a deep understanding of the many pressures people face and the strength and resilience they often don’t realise they have.

I chose to become a counsellor because I wanted to create a space where people could slow things down and focus on themselves and draw on their resilience and strengths in challenging times. I know from experience that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting. Many people worry about being judged, not knowing what to say, or whether counselling will really help. I’ve also seen, time and again, how powerful it can be when someone feels genuinely heard and supported.
You might be feeling anxious or low, struggling with relationships, affected by past experiences, or simply feeling lost or disconnected from yourself. Whatever brings you here, my aim is to offer a safe, confidential, and non judgemental space where you can speak openly and at your own pace. Together, we can explore what’s going on for you and begin to make sense of things, supporting you to make meaningful and positive changes in your life so you feel happier, and whole.
People come to me for help with a wide range of issues.
You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, unhappy or disconnected from yourself. These experiences can feel isolating, but you do not have to face them alone.
Here are a few of the more common difficulties I can support during our sessions together.
Anxiety
Caring Responsibilities
Identity
Family Difficulties
As a qualified therapeutic counsellor I offer a safe, confidential, and non judgemental counselling approach where you can talk openly and be heard. My holistic therapeutic counselling approach is client centred and would be tailored to your individual needs, supporting your emotional healing, personal growth, and self understanding. Sessions are led at a pace that feels right for you, helping you feel safe, supported, and in control throughout the process.
At the heart of my work is a belief in your capacity for growth and change.
My aim is to help you feel calmer, more confident, happier and more at peace with yourself, so you can move forward with greater clarity and a renewed sense of wholeness.
Where appropriate and with your consent, mindfulness techniques may be incorporated to support emotional regulation, self awareness, and resilience. Together, we explore how you cope with life’s challenges, rebuild your sense of self, and develop healthier ways of understanding and responding to your experiences.
Support and Understanding
I do not see my role as “fixing” you. My aim is to help you restore balance, improve emotional wellbeing, and build confidence and self trust, so you can move forward with greater clarity, calm, and a renewed sense of purpose.
If you are looking for professional counselling support to help you feel more at peace with yourself and your life, Marpe Counselling is here to help.
